Manitoba has a long and proud history of high quality school music programs. Music Month is an excellent time to showcase the music learning in our classrooms and raise our voices in support of music education in our schools.

 

MUSIC EDUCATION IN ACTION 

MMEA invites Music Educators in Manitoba K-12 schools to submit examples of student learning in your programs. Examples of submissions may include samples of solo performances, duets (e.g. guitarist/singer), small ensembles (e.g. brass quintet), larger groups (e.g. wind ensemble, concert band, choir), classroom activities, or anything else you can think of! There is no prescribed repertoire for this occasion; we want to share any classroom successes you are having! This project is open to all students in Manitoba K-12 school programs.

ADVOCACY STATEMENTS 

We are also interested in hearing student, teacher, and community advocacy statements. Make a video, a poster, write a letter, write a song! Tell us what being part of music education in schools means to you!

Selected contributions will be shared throughout the month of May on MMEA social media platforms.
